To my brother with love.....

Posting this poem (again written a couple of years back) ahead of Raksha Bandan,

Happy Raksha Bandhan to all the brothers and sisters out there.

Dear brother...
When you hold my hand
you make me your daughter;
When you give me a hug
you make me your mother;
When you teach me patiently
you make me your student;
When you come to me in doubt
you make me your teacher;
When you share everything with me
you make me a part of you;
When you look for my shoulders for support
you make me your friend.

When you believe in me
you make me capable of everything;
When you show me the right way
you make me feel looked after;
When you wipe the tears off me
you make feel the happiest person;
When you say that you love me
you make my life beautiful.

Thank u for being my brother... <3 <3 :)

Till next time folks!

Dulcinea...

A beautiful maid she is
A shining star by day
Sparkling joy all the way
A beautiful maid, indeed.

There's a shine upon her hair
... like a cascade of waterfalls,
It flows-and fills the air
With a sweet scent.

An ocean of beautiful expression
On her face, who will tire?
And the sparkling eyes,
Sets every heart on fire.

Music so sweet, was unheard of
Till, they heard her speak
Her voice, like falling silver
Gurgling down the streets.

Like Elanor, the beautiful flower
She blooms.
Like the gems rare to come by,
She is a find...

"Who art thou? thy blessed maiden!
Dulcinea, may thy be called
For Dulcinea art thou to all
Who art fortunate to see thee."

A poem that was written probably 9-10 years back. Inspired be a wonderful girl Sangeetha....

Until next time folks!

Bathroom Tales

It is quite an understatement if I say that the bathroom is the best friend of a girl... Every emotion that she goes through, the mirror at one end of the bathroom would have had witness to.

Be it her being fat and coming home to examine herself in front of the mirror to check out if the names that the bullies had been calling her is indeed true, or be it the elated feeling when she has lost some pound of that "ever elusive" belly area, only to glow and shine like a superstar as if that is the biggest achievement she has ever made..

Be it her trying on new clothes, new hairstyles, trying on different looks to impress the guy she is crazily in love with, those wedding dress sneak peak try on, the bathroom mirror has seen it all.
Not just the happy moments, the bathroom has been a witness to all the loud wails, cannot-understand-what-language-sobs, the break up days, the worst looking days, the days when she fought with her husband, the days when things did not go well with the in-laws, when her children did not listen to her and started drifting away into a world of their own, there are so many moments that she underwent in that bathroom and there was just a single witness to it all, “The four walls and the mirrors. “

One day, the walls and mirrors of the entire world met and had a gossip conference to see what their counterparts were witnessing.... And, they were amazes to know, it was pretty much the same thing with every other wall and mirror around the world...Everyone is fighting a battle that you have absolutely no idea about.

But wait, what do the wall-m's have to say about the guys ;) I would leave that to the wind :P
